HSBC Car Insurance

 HSBC Car Insurance

Like other average-driver insurers, HSBC Car Insurance won't touch you if you drive an import or if your car was registered in Northern Ireland. In addition, HSBC isn't interested in covering you if you have access to other vehicles. Results from HSBC's panel of insurers are on the pricey side.
  • No claims discount protection
  • Legal cover
  • Courtesy car (not guaranteed)
The HSBC Car Insurance site is as well designed and impersonal as you'd expect from a banking giant. The online form isn't too complex and doesn't take long to complete, and the site presents you with five quotes from different insurance companies. Premiums are on the high side: the best quote for our Corsa driver was £583.89 including no claims discount protection but excluding legal cover, while our 4x4 driver was quoted £547.35. The Corsa policy had an excess of £100, while the 4x4 excess was £120. You can't fault the design of the site or the range of policy information offered, but other insurers offered us cover for significantly less cash.
